Ram Sampath : Mumbai (Bollywood) – Delhi Belly fame Ram Sampath, now popular for his DK Bose number from one the year’s bigger hits, Delhi Belly, will compose the soundtrack for Navdeep Singh’s Rock The Shaadi. After the Aamir Khan production’s success, the composer was supposedly offered11 films in a row but he opted to work on the score of Rock related stories
With his cult compositions "DK Bose" and "Switty Switty" grabbing the top slot in the chartbusters, Ram Sampath became a brand in himself overnight. Thanks to the hit 'Delhi Belly', the composer now has been snapped up for Balaji and iRock's co-production, 'Rock The Shaadi', starring Abhay Deol and Genelia D'Souza in lead. Sampath, who has been offered to score for a host of films since 'Delhi Belly', is said to have taken up 'Rock The Shaadi', as he loved the funky plot of the film and wanted to work with the banners associated with the film. The film's music is said to be an assortment of club-friendly, funky and folk, for which Ekta Kapoor and director Navdeep Singh thought Sampath would be the apt choice.

DJ Jalebee Cartel: Mumbai (Bollywood) Jalebee Cartel has challenged the notion that dance music is a Western domain by single-handedly putting India on the international EDM map. Composed of four members, Arjun Vagale (laptop, mixing and scratching Ash Roy (vocals and percussions) Jalebee has been taking India by storm for over three years. From individual DJ sets to collective live gigs, producing to composing, the multi-talented group prettymuch does it all. And the quality is evident from the international interest it's amassing.
The live act features Jalebee's own compositions, which are broken up, twisted and served fresh with ethnic sounds thrown in for good measure. But it's a funky, international sound that's unlikely to be recognised as Indian. By generating a live set from electronica, they're breaking certain boundaries particular to Indian audiences. The live element creates an extra edge, one that's constantly changing and evolving. The result is a potent, energetic livewire of influences from Progressive to Techno to Electro, overlaid with live vocal harmonies, percussions, drums and tablas. Jalebee's sound isn't about neat packaging: it's about fusing genres to create a raw, electric style of urban dance music |

Motherjane: kochi
Motherjane was formed in 1996 by drummer John Thomas and bassist Clyde Rozario to "fill in" for another band which had backed out from a college festival at St. Albert's College, Kochi. The initial line up consisted of John Thomas (drums), Clyde Rozario (bass), Mithun (guitars) and Laji (vocals). [1] Vocalist Laji soon left the band and Motherjane had to continue as an instrumental band without a vocalist. In 1999 lead guitarist Mithun left the band and was replaced by Baiju Dharmajan. [1] Around that time, Motherjane used to play at a restaurant called Ancient Mariner in Marine Drive, Kochi. In 2000, SurajMani a HVAC engineer by raining, [2] who used to perform with Bangalore based rock bands, shifted to Kochi and chanced to meet the band at the Ancient Mariner. Thomas invited Mani to sing with the band. But Mani was not satisfied with the band only doing covers of Iron Maiden and Metallica. Mani became the bands vocalist and wrote Motherjane's first original song "Disillusioned" soon after. Around that ime Motherjane recruited yet another guitarist, Rex Vijayan. Things took a slight detour after six months, when Mani moved back o Bangalore, but they continued to meet and jam as a band. [3] |
